Text chats for Voice chats

As a person who keeps most channels on the server I frequent from sending anything other than @ mentions I have run into a bit of frustration with the lack of ability to connect a voice chat to a text chat so that text notifications can go through only while a person is in the corresponding voice chat. On a chat like that having @ mentions still notify the person would be useful but I think that having the ability to receive notifications from a given chat while in a specific voice chat would be very useful.
