Offline User lists when server is > 1000 users

Hi,

Just re-posting on this matter, because the latest responses to this were some time ago (and posts started 2+ years ago).

Surely after 2 years of advancement in server hosting capabilities, the need to hide the user list when there's more than 1,000 users on a server has diminished - if this can't be added as a toggle (and we'd then be able to make a call whether the diminished performance is worth the benefit of having the member list), can the limit at least be increased (2,000 or 5,000 etc)?

With Discord used on mobile devices a lot, the user list was a great way to check various roles/etc.  Losing it suddenly because a community is successful is a pain, and a real issue for us.
