Deleted messages, archives, and message restoration
What if there was an option to archive and restore deleted messages and pictures
In its current form, when a message is deleted from servers and DMs it's gone for good with no way to undo the deletion. My thought is that maybe Direct Messages could be stored onto the local storage device for safe-keeping.
- Chat log would be local, and for personal use only (you would only see your own texts and pictures, none from the other party/parties) [perhaps a file type or format that was read-only so it couldn't be edited before upload]
- This feature would be made an option for individual DM-logs and would not be automatic across an account (manually select which conversations you want to 'save'). This could also make the archive process easier, as when it is selected the folder is then created for proper location saving and reference.
- The archive would look just as the DMs do now in their formatting with exception to where there were replies from the other person(s) where it would just give an indication of response without directly showing what was posted
Eg: Username (date) (timestamp) "user-reply (message / picture)" or something similar to show a break in conversation from one person talking to another.
- Any messages restored using this method would have it be indicated as such in the same manner that edited messages are.
- Somewhere in the interface there would then be an icon or command so that messages could be reuploaded, the save point already being selected from when the file was first created.
The purpose of this would be so that deleted messages and pictures could be restored at a later point by their poster in the case of regretful or malicious deletion.

TLDR: One-sided chat logs saved onto local drive with option to restore through application/server.
