create shared messages

I think many would appreciate an opportunity to create shared messages.

We use Discord to share our progress.
For this we use messages which then have to be updated again and again.
Currently, however, this can only be done by the creator of the message.

If there was a possibility that the creator could switch the message to the user "free edit" and this would then be editable by anyone with the appropriate rights, this would open up many completely new possibilities of use.

  This sounds like exactly what I've been wanting. It would be very useful to be able to post a message and then set that message to "free edit" mode, so that groups can collaborate easily on things like building playlists.

  Perhaps the message might have an editing token: In order to edit the message, a user has to get the edit token. They have the token until they're done editing (or a timeout). Only one user can have the token at a time.
  
  This would save all those "multiple edits happening at once" headaches. :)
