Proposal for channel permission UI.
If I want to set up a more complicated permission scheme for a channel or category, the current UI is very time consuming to navigate and may even provoke some errors. Let us assume I have 5 different roles (A,B,C,D,E) that I want to grant access to a channel, but lets say that role A should only be able to read, role B and C should be able to write as well and role D and E should additionally be able to manage messages. Right now I would have to constantly switch back and forth between i.e. role D and E to make sure that they are synced up and if I want to give the whole permissions a quick review, I need to review every list for each role individually.
What I would propose is that the permissions menu of a channel would present a table with roles/members for columns and the permissions, so I can easily see all permissions on one quick glance and also quickly compare the permissions between roles/members. All of this obviously just applies to the advanced permissions section, the simplified private channel system is fine as is, except that I would either have an indicator in the simplified UI if some changes have been made to the role/member in the advanced setting that go beyond the simplified UI, or that the simplified UI is hidden by default, once changes have been made in the advanced settings, as having people with vastly different perms be listed the exact same in the simplified menu is kind of misleading. However that last point is not all that important, as someone who adjusts a channel in the advanced settings would rather look there, than in the simplified menu, but I wanted to bring that up as well.

This is seriously number 1 suggestion.
I would be fine with having the small section of "Roles/Members" scroll along as I scroll down the list of Permissions, so I could easily switch between the Roles and change the needed Permission.
Your suggestion (If I understand correctly, would place everything in a table with rows and columns) sounds awesome too though.0
