Problems Downloading Certain File Extensions on iOS

I've seen posts about this dating to a year+ back but this is still an issue I'm experiencing despite having the latest edition of discord. Pngs always save as jpgs and gifs save as videos. Is there any way to fix this? Has discord even looked at this issue?
