Discord's Lately Rising Performance Problems
Hi, I know if I say “discord reduces my gameplay performance severely” your going to tell me to do some settings to remove CPU usage. I think that is a great solution. But having to do all that every time I wanna play games with friends or talk in a game moderating meeting are things I need very different settings for. For example for my meetings I want my quality to be at best so I put on all the noise supression, echo cancellation, audio detection online, but then if I want to play a game I turn those off for performance, what remains is just my keyboard noises and the noise of air in the mic. But however if I were to play a game that has in-game voice related chatting, it does not effect the performance in any way and works almost as good as discord with all CPU using settings enabled, no problem. The only reason I created this post is to let know of the Discord team to perhaps consider adding at least one of these.
- Having an option to do all the settings for either performance mode or quality mode (much like how you do the graphics settings in any game).
- Having an option to go offline as the account, disabling anything else than the ongoing call. Like disabling viewing servers, dms, friends, only thing visible and available is the ongoing call until the user presses a button to start everything up, as if I have discord quitted, but just the ongoing call is the only procedure happening.
ETC…
I have a computer that runs on “AMD Radeon RX 6600” GPU and “AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor 3.20GHz” CPU struggles to keep my calls going with discord and I don't plan on applying any changes to my computer for the next long few years due to private reasons.
If anyone is reading that isn't from the Discord team, consider upvoting this so it gets the attention of our developers!

I appreciate you bringing up these concerns about Discord's impact on gameplay performance and the need for different settings for various scenarios. Your suggestions for introducing performance and quality modes, as well as an option to go offline selectively, are thoughtful and could enhance user experience, especially for those with specific performance requirements.
It's important for users to have flexibility in adjusting settings based on their usage preferences and system capabilities. I recommend submitting these suggestions directly to Discord's feedback or support channels if you haven't already. This ensures that your input reaches the Discord development team for consideration in future updates.
If there's anything else I can assist you with or if you have further questions, feel free to let me know!

Thank you for sharing your experience and suggestions regarding Discord's performance issues. We understand the importance of having customizable settings to optimize performance based on different usage scenarios, such as gaming or participating in meetings.
Your idea of implementing performance and quality modes, similar to graphics settings in games, is intriguing. This would allow users to easily toggle between settings optimized for performance or quality depending on their current activity. Additionally, the suggestion to have an option to go offline as the account, focusing solely on ongoing calls, could further alleviate performance issues for users with lower-end hardware or specific privacy concerns.
We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along to our development team for consideration. Improving performance and providing more customization options are ongoing priorities for us, and your input helps us better understand the needs of our community.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and please feel free to reach out if you have any further suggestions or feedback. We're here to listen and work towards making Discord a better platform for all users. ehsaas8171bisp.com
