Nitro Business Model Suggestion

The idea is to introduce everyone to luxuries. This will not only hook consumers into wanting more (and thus potentially paying more), but it will also help consumers feeling heard and recognised which will help re-establish trust/confidence they have with Discord.

Free: gets the basic of what most chat protocols offer (I've been on a lot, and Discord is the only one that doesn't offer free custom emoji and/or stickers that I've tried). Fifty emoji and 15 stickers sounds like a lot, but it's really not. For those who can afford it, they'll likely move onto Nitro Basic.

Nitro Basic: Grants the double amount of custom emoji and stickers, allows them to use custom emoji and stickers anywhere (as is now), and grants pretty much all cosmetic capabilities. (I left out the bloat stuff because most of us, though admittedly not all of us, don't care about the bloat.) For some people, this may be all they want and need, but for other people it may not be enough so they'll move onto Nitro (expensive).

Nitro (expensive): Grants all things cosmetics as granted in Nitro Basic, but it gets double the amount of custom emoji and stickers that Nitro Basic gets. On top of that, they get more practical features such as the HD streaming, the excess file uploads, greater text character capacity, and things like that. Don't underestimate the value of HD streaming and greater text character cap; a lot of people like to stream and value HD.

This is how it'd look listed out:

FREE (the basics of basic)

- 50 Emoji (that they can upload/use themselves)

- 15 Stickers (that they can upload/use themselves)

NITRO BASIC (cosmestics)

- 100 Emoji

- 30 Stickers

- Custom Emoji Anywhere (i.e. using other servers' emoji anywhere)

- Custom Stickers Anywhere (i.e. using other servers' stickers anywhere)

- Special Nitro Badge

- Custom Profiles

- Bigger File Sharing (50MB)

- Colourful Discord Themes

- +1 Discord server boost

NITRO (expensive) (cosmetics + practicality)

- 200 Emoji

- 60 Stickers

- Custom Emoji Anywhere

- Custom Stickers Anywhere

- Special Nitro Badge

- Custom Profiles

- Bigger File Sharing (500MB)

- Colourful Discord Themes

- +2 Discord server boosts

- HD Video Streaming

- Personalised Entrance Sounds

- Join up to 200 Servers

- Longer Messages up to 4k characters

I hope you will consider this proposition. One of my friends who saw this list and didn't realise it was a list I had come up with initially said, “wow, Discord is a lot more responsible than I remembered.” I think that's saying a lot.
