Add an in-app translation engine
Bit of background: We have a small server that is dedicated to people who are fans of a specific character race face option within Final Fantasy XIV. Our founder discovered that there is someone who runs a similar group in Japan and we invited them to join our server. Most of our communication with them has been through Twitter, which has a built-in translation option.
But now that they are in our discord, communicating with them has become more difficult due to the lack of an in-app translation option.
My suggestion is to consider contracting with DeepL to see if they can help develop a translation function for discord chat messages.
I suggest DeepL because their system is MUCH more intuitive than Google's and specifically their JP to ENG translations are a lot better. They aren't as literal, if that makes sense.
Having an in-app translation function would also allow for greater communication among people all over the world. Admins wouldn't have to request that people only speak in English so they can be understood. Moderators wouldn't struggle to moderate messages from other countries if people switch to another language.
