Feature Request: Implementing User Data Storage for Discord Bots
Current Situation
As it stands, Discord bot developers are required to specify and justify the data they need, explain where they will store it, and outline the duration for which it will be stored. This process often necessitates external storage solutions, leading to data being stored outside the Discord platform.
Proposed Enhancement:
I have been working on several Telegram bots recently, and I have found their user store functionality incredibly useful. This feature allows bot developers to store user-specific data directly within the Telegram platform, ensuring that all data remains centralized and secure.
I propose that Discord implement a similar feature that would allow bot developers to store user-specific data and potentially other relevant data within Discord itself. This would mean:
- All data would remain within the Discord ecosystem, enhancing security and data management.
- Bot developers could streamline their development process by avoiding the need to set up and manage external storage solutions.
- Users would benefit from knowing that their data is not being stored on multiple external servers.
This feature would provide a seamless and efficient way to manage bot-related data, significantly improving the developer experience and user trust.
I believe this enhancement aligns well with Discord's commitment to providing a secure and developer-friendly environment. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I look forward to any feedback or discussion on how we can make this a reality.

Hello, Hattorius
Keeping all data within the Discord ecosystem would reduce the risk of data breaches and ensure that user data is managed according to Discord’s security standards.
