Avatars by server

I didn't see this anywhere but I am part of several RP pages on Discord and it would be nice to be able to have a custom avatar per server. You can change your name on a server but not your avatar. People tend to recognize people by their character, and being able to show each character on each server would be nice.

    Also, for anyone subbed to notifications on this thread; literally one week (next Monday at 9:15 AM EST) and this thread is officially 2 years old moving into the 3rd year! So, congrats to everyone whose been standing in-line for the door that leads to nowhere!

    It's been ridiculous. I get so many emails from people wanting this feature, but not a word from Discord about it. I'm not really mad at them, but it's surprising how many people want this, but there hasn't been any word on it at all.

    Honestly, the -only- way those ignoring overlords will notice this, is if we get a or some major/prolific STREAMERS to support this change. Why? Because most (big) streamers have a discord server, and surely, if they'd support this change, these overlords would eventually be "forced" to implement this. Otherwise, we stand little to zero chances getting this implemented. Cannot believe it's now 3 years ago since this came up, and -still- nothing's ben done with this! In-friggin-sane and stupid.

    Just to throw some fuel on this fire.  This request is actually older than 2-3 years.  2-3 years ago, all of the open requests were ported to a new system, what we are looking at.  If you sort all of the requests by most votes or most comments, you will see a lot of them say 2 years (as of late 2020), but nothing older.  This is more like 4 years old at this point.

    Avatars are as much part of your identity as nicks are. If it makes sense to be able to change your nick from server to server, same with your avatar.

    Many of us use Discord to play RPGs and this is a must to not break immersion.

    I upvote this. Many people use discord for both gaming and working. We need different avatars or let us hide avatar(use preset avatar) in specific server.

    Discord, Discord, Discord. Please, for the love of heck, pay attention to this request. Almost a THOUSAND replies all wanting this feature, and I'm sure there are 1000x more than that who want it but haven't posted or don't know about the support site. This is one of those "must have" features that is extremely surprising for this service to be lacking.

    I use Discord for work and for hanging out with my friends, and it's kinda weird having a work conversation with a "DMC5's Vergil sitting on a plastic chair" profile image.

    Yet another vote for this. Since we join "real world buddy" and "random people playing hardcore games" servers this is highly needed. Among friends I very much prefer my own face. Among strangers: Not so much in many cases.

    Make this happen, please?

    Please, add this feature. I don't wanna display my real face in some servers (or here, at this forum), but I must at my work server.

    Seconded this. I want to identify myself differently to different people. A separate name is a start, but your avatar is really your 'face' on Discord, and only having one global avatar really limits what you can do.

    Why is this not a thing after 2 years? Discord is largely for games and I want different icons for different games.

    I play a lot of D&D and we use different servers to manage our different games and this would be AMAZING by way of helping with that. I hope we get this feature one day!!

    Devs please! This would be amazing. I use Discord for gaming AND for school! I don't necessarily portray the same personality in both servers and would LOVE for my avatar to show that.
