Custom Themes

A blurple theme would be *so cool*. -1 -

I found this because somebody in our group just asked how can you change it from black on black because that makes scrolling very hard. Frankly, I don't know why that was made a default. Heralds have known for hundreds of years at least the principle of what tincture to put on what tincture. White and yellow work on dark or medium dark purple, green, red, black, blue, brown (if you must), or you can do it visa versa. There's a reason text is usually black on white, because it stands out. Look at the logo for virtually any major company, and you'll see this rule of tincture used (although some do it with a contrasting outline).
If there's going to be a default, I think it should at least be changed to one that's easy to distinguish.
This from Wikipedia on Rule of tincture:"Modern design principle
"The rule of tincture has had an influence reaching far beyond heraldry. It has been applied to the design of flags, so that the flag of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach was modified to conform to the rule. Pragmatically, it is a useful rule of thumb for the design of logos, icons and other symbols."

This would be a fantastic addition to give servers more flair and be more thematic for whatever purpose they may serve. Plz, plz, make this a reality! :D

im tired of cozy and light dark and compact

would also be nice to have server specific themes (that could be disabled if someone doesn't like seeing the theme)

Yes please!! It'd be awesome. 0 -

A choice of more themes and the ability to customise them would be awesome. Even having the full customisation part as a Nitro feature would be fine - it would add more of an incentive to pay for Nitro and support Discord, as you're getting more out of doing it.

who uses discord light theme amirite?
Maybe it sends a request to the client saying "Hey this has a custom theme, would you like to download it?" and you'd have the choice.
Cross-site scripting through CSS is available though http://www.tralfamadore.com/2008/08/xsstc-cross-site-scripting-through-css.html, so the Discord team would either just make it customisable from the app without CSS or they would have to attempt to block all known cross-site scripting.

Would love any customization that allows us to hide/remove/not automatically open to the toxic activity tab!

All you have to say Alden Loveshade is that You and your friend have trouble seeing the dark tones of discord. Not an entire lecture to people who probably already obtained their degrees... Also what is the brightness/ contrast on the monitor itself btw? Changing that may help you see darker tones.

there may or may not be a way to do it

don't you ever think there could possibly be a reason it's banned by tos?
0 -
I know exactly why it's against TOS that's why I'm asking for Discord to add this feature
0 -
You can already do that. Your discord server must be a partner or this... read links below.
https://discordapp.com/partners or https://discordapp.com/verification
I think, discord made it that they only get these for safety reasons or something.

There are 3rd party software that can allow themes, but I support this idea nonetheless. It can make it easier to express yourself without having to download software.

This is a dupe. -2 -
I think this would be a cool idea, although if that actually was an option I think they should add more things it affects. 0 -
Everybody's so hyped about server themes, but I've never considered applying that to things like pings and the New Message line, but it's a fantastic idea! 0 -
IMO, it should be CSS based just like what BetterDiscord and other plugins already does, cause if that it'll be easy for the themers out there to implement it and we basically have a lot of themes on those market already, since BD was marked as a ToS violation, I had to stare this boring screen for like the past 8 months now.

I completely agree.

I like this idea! But I would like if the user (us) could set up our own custom backgrounds to Discord Mobile and Desktop just like Gmail and our backgrounds on Desktop and Mobile! It wouldn't be fair to all of us if the Admins/Owners of the servers set up a custom background that we don't like :(
👌(And if the feature was for everyone and has all of the full features with no cost cause that would be fair for everyone!)

I believe this is a dupe. -2 -
That will be cool but add this to ios and android also

me too

@HexDev The problem is that BetterDiscord isn't supported & is technically against the TOS to use BetterDiscord. That also requires a bunch of extra unofficial non-supported steps etc. so trying to get other people to do it can often be a hassle or they won't be willing to do it.
I do also think it would be nice if they allowed people to use custom themes. I know that server side graphics are available only to "Partners" that are basically premium servers that require having a min. amount of members and social media followers. What those graphic options are though I'm not sure as they don't specify on the website.1 -
Hit Ctrl+Shift+I in Discord for Windows for a Dev Tools window.

Non-solution. Dev tools does not cover automatically loading custom stylesheets/scripts.
