[Suggestion] Taskbar flashing without notification pop-ups.

Right now, if I want to have taskbar flashing enabled, I also need to have "Enable Desktop Notifications" checked as well. However, this enables notification pop-ups in the corner of my screen, which I don't want.

It'd be nice if either:

1) The taskbar flashing setting worked regardless of the global notification setting

OR:

2) There was an additional toggle to control pop-up behavior

Either of these would be fine, but it doesn't make sense to gate a less intrusive notification option behind using a more intrusive one.

I've confirmed with support that the current behavior is intended, hence this is a feature request.

 

Also, the pop-ups are outright broken on Windows 7 if you don't use Aero (and they have been for years), which while a separate issue, makes this one that much more aggravating.

    This is still a problem and so annoying! I miss DMs all the time because I expect the behavior would be a taskbar flash when I get a Direct Message, but it doesn't work with the notifications disabled, even if I have taskbar flash enabled!

    In Windows Settings/Control Panel, you can disable notifications manually, since you don't want to turn off the notifications setting.
