So, essentially what I want to do is, to be able to create a link out a message id, so that when the link is posted (directing towards a different message,) if it's clicked the reader will be moved to look at the message the link is pointing to if possible.

 

Keep this limited to server scope, so people can't post a message link in a different server. Also, have it check permissions so the person clicking the link only gets moved if they're actually capable of reading the message.

    This is currently possible on the desktop client, click on the settings icon next to the message and the "copy link" option is there.
