The new redesign looks weird

A couple points to outline here:

  1. No announcement?
  2. It's not a full redesign. There's a lot of UI bits that still look like the old deal and this definitely doesn't help the transition
  3. These new material look with the rounded edges material design decent in some places but seriously generic. Literally every big company out there is doing this, most notably Google and Apple
  4. The server notifications are tiny and unnoticeable
  5. The buttons look weird and these flattened icons just don't go with the theme
  6. The color of these new buttons don't change in light mode, making them stand out against the light backdrop of the theme
  7. These green buttons look off
  8. It just doesn't feel right. I know this is subjective but the aesthetic feels a bit, eh, sophisticated and yet childish (the feeling you get when you see stuff written in a Comic Sans font). 

I don't imply there shouldn't be a redesign in the future although I like stuff just the way it is. This one just looks weird.

I'd add few more points but I'm a bit sleepy at the moment. I'll get to updating it in the morning.

Regardless, you guys at Discord do an amazing job. The fact that giving feedback that can be publicly viewed and responded to feels engaging and genuine (quite unlike the support services on a lot of websites)

    I'm not fond of the UI stuff either. Please put it back D: it was fine the way it was

    I second this. Also, unless I'm blind, all my pins in pm's have disappeared, along with all options in the top right corner of pm's. These options are still available in servers, but have been crammed up into the left top corner with the server name. Very inconvenient, to say the least. That being said, thank you for looking into this.

    Well, I figured it out. I'm on a tablet, and I just had to tilt my screen to see everything. It's not very user friendly, but at least everything's still there. Still voting for the former settings, though.
