Remove Verify phone timeout
i am non-stop trying to verify to a server and I didn't get the verify code.
this is really complicated for me and I want it to remove it.
I am tring it every day, and also, what's the time of the timeout?

Discord you guys need to fix this... simple as that. There is no reason for this to be a thing. You're punishing users for making a new account on your platform... ill say it again, YOURE PUNISHING USERS FOR USING YOUR PLATFORM....... you cant put a 14 day timeout on this that CANT be lifted.... which is a complete lie, I'm sure you guys are completely capable of lifting that timeout. You cant even give the excuse of "its for security reasons so that someone cant just input a random number" because after choosing a phone number you need to then input a verification code which someone wont have if they just input a random number that is not theirs or is not someone who is obviously allowing them to use their phone. Clearly lots of people are having this issue recently and that's just the people who have decided to say something or even know they can..... fix this

Burak A Legit the timeout takes 14 days, which is really annoying. I've tried to get in my other account, I verified once, then a few seconds later, it says it again. It is VERY annoying, and I can't get to my server for 14 days and I am the only admin.

OK, this is insane. I am locked out of my primary account that I NEED to use to conduct my business. This happened after verifying my number for my secondary account.
There is NOTHING in Discord's TOS that says you should not have more than one account or that you would be punished randomly for having more than one account.
The reason I have two accounts in the first place is because of the limit on the number of servers you can be part of at the same time. I had to create another account to continue joining servers, because of a limitation of Discord.
I NEED Discord to lift the lock on my account as soon as possible.
Every hour I spend locked out of my account due to no fault of my own, I lose money.
There has to be a way to lift the lock. How can I do that?

I've talked to 5 support members about this, I got the same crappy response from all of them, which was them asking me if I was using a hotline number after I clearly clarified I was using a mobile device. I'm starting to think that the support team are either bots, or are just lazy as heck. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to answer a simple question like "How long will my number be timed out?" Discord is a great app, no doubt about that, but the masterminds behind it need to start listening to their customers. I really don't think they know how much people rely on Discord for communication. For all they know, we could be trying to communicate with our dying grandmother (very unlikely, but who knows?). Honestly, after Covid-19, discord was the only for of communication I've had with even my Girlfriend, and the other day, I was supposed to co-host a twitch stream with my best friend, which I couldn't do because I was randomly flagged, and discords verification were all messed up! Yall really need to be more considerate of how people use your app, and what they might use it for. 2 days time out, maybe, but two weeks? Really? We simply try to use your app and it's as if we're being punished! Velocity, you're screwed ;-; I'll post an SS of the email they kept copy and pasting.

WAIT I REALIZED SOMETHING!!! I got locked out because I used my phone number for my ALT account!! I have 2 responses about this.
1. Rules never said you can't have more than 1 account.
2. This is what it says "one Discord account at a time", you know what this means? It doesn't say you can only use this on one discord account, SO MY ACCOUNT GOT FLAGGED FOR NO REASON!!!9 -

This 14 days delay is simply absurd... it just does not make any sense whatsoever to be unable to use you own phone number even if no other account uses it anymore... just what the hell?

Why does the timeout apply on THE SAME account that you first used a certain phone number?
And why does Discord not tell you that removing the phone number from your account is also going to un-verify it?
Most sites (much larger than Discord, such as Google and Facebook) allow you to safely dissociate your phone number after successfully verifying. Discord's "safety" measures are absurd.

This is sad, it literally just happened to me, I'm finna be inactive for 14 days or more because I was doing stuff with an alt account? I have a server I'm working on and my co-owner doesn't know what to do and discord was our only contact. I also work for someone on discord and discord was also our ONLY CANTACT.

How do i contact discord support? I have only used my phone number on my own acc and it was never deleted until now, and i cant join a seever anymore? Discord please remove my timeout

14 freaking days? Discords my only way of communicating with my best friend, and we haven't spoken in 5 days... We usually talk everyday... now we have to wait to wait nine more days???

A timeout is implemented because if there was never a timeout, then a user could easily put a stranger's phone number into discord and it would never expire and for security reasons, it needs to expire so the stranger can have assurance that their phone number can't be used randomly and a code that was sent to them months ago can't still be valid.

My account got flagged, so I use a phone number. AND IT STILL THINKS I'M A BOT SO MY ACCOUNT GOT FLAGGED AGAIN! Great. Now I have to wait for another 14 days, how fun!

This is honestly the stupidest security feature ever added to discord i shouldn't have to wait 2 weeks just to access my account because i made the mistake of using my number on an alt account. i really hope this is removed or at least updated to give you more options because this is honestly really stupid. I just want to get into my account and talk with my friends, now all my friends are going to be confused why i was gone for 14 days. Discord why did you add this? its unnecessary you should of made it allow us to use another way to verify accounts.

honestly, in my opinion 14 days is not bad. Why do I say so? Because for me it's been 2 MONTHS. 60 DAMN DAYS

Don't worry, if you accidentally removed your cell, then you can use the number again in exactly 24 hours. :)
