get rid of discord nitro server boost
honestly... i really dislike it... it adds a new button "boost server" to the server, and when i mean to click server settings, i click "invite" and it is really getting on my nerves, especially the many times i said i do not want to buy nitro... yet it shows everywhere "buy nitro" which is discriminatory, and is really annoying, but if you like it, i can handle your thoughts, just don't strictly say "f off, it's good!" or anything like that, it is just constructive criticism... on top of that, the idea itself, ugh... idk how to explain how much i hate it honestly

also, eversince we heard about the discord attack, stuff got a whole lot worse, because now they are doing nothing about the attack, except for updating useless icons that nobody gives af about, they aren't even making any security attacks, they are just letting the attack happen, really, discord staffs are the WORST at making update ideas, by letting this bullshit happen

As Discord eats RAM for no reason do YOU see the Discord app running because its not so why eat that RAM???
1 -
exactly the reason why i close discord when i play games on pc

but if you look at the bottom Discord wasn't opened TO run

I'll need to look into the possible crypto-mining going on, but it's unlikely. (I'd think someone would have found more evidence sooner if that were the case.)
I know for sure if you close the Discord window it will still be running in the background. It's a feature so it can pop back up if you accidentally close your window. If you want to close the process you'll have to right-click and press "Quit." Then Discord shuts down.
This kinda makes sense due to the fact discord can take a little time starting up at the beginning. The multiple instances I'm not sure about, that's happened to me with discord or other programs and I typically just end-task them and it's fine.
I do agree that many of the features we enjoyed before Nitro was a thing have been kinda taken back and thrown behind a paywall. It's definitely a nice platform and I enjoy it, but I would really like their service to go in a better direction. I've been concerned with the server boosting as well, I'm wondering if the $10/month charge gives 1 boost/month or if it's just the 1-2 initial boosts and then you have to pay additional fees per month to boost further. It just seems really low to charge users like that. (at least they're not EA or Activision/Blizzard)1 -
Year goes by no real fix to this! More things become locked behind paywall and server boost is pointless. CASH GRAB 101

I actually think they would make more money if they lowered their prices, its just not worth it to most people.
