Discord Colors that overlap Role Colors that don't interfere with Permissions at all
Okay- so on a Discord Server I help lead/run; I'm wishing to implement Custom Color Roles System towards said server and because of how it's been designed, there's a conflict of security and interest that I feel can be easily circumvented If we could do a couple things on Discord.
1. Color Roles separate from the current Hierarchy based system that people can have attached to themselves that don't involve itself in the current role system (Say... 50-100 Color Options that can be allotted to colors default and color wheel picked that can be independent of the current Roles)
I'll provide below the example in which this conflict arises and motivates me to voice this suggestion
This is the current dilemma I am running into:
Color Roles with Zero Permissions towards the top with a Custom Bot that handles all sorts of these things. But below these things we have our Staff, Moderators and etcetera for the community (So that our higher members too can have access to this as well)
But because of the way Discord handles Roles- this is a very extreme issue because having the higher role (colors) will make it so If you have Manage Roles Permission + This; it leaves a very blatant security hole and inhibits creativity for Discord Management and thus removes a potential Community Engagement Option that doesn't have to exclude the staff themselves just to keep things safe.
I implore you guys at Discord, help us out by granting us a way to do this so that my small community of 1650-1700 people can have something cosmetic and fun to enjoy!
So just to give more insight to what I've done so who knows; maybe I'm doing something incorrectly.
18-20 Roles above everything else minus one Bot role in the server for the Colors
Blank Permissions
Handpicked Colors for each Role
One Role being the Custom Automation Bot above the color Roles to actually dish them out.
The result becomes when the permissions are defined clearly that a bot, Maintenance and Server Owner can Manage Roles out manually and automatically.
In this situation except for one thing that doesn't apply towards our server- this system can work perfectly fine for everyone.
But I can also see how in other situations that because of programmed limitations of current Discord how this is inconvenient and disappointing- especially for creative measures.

Leader of the Discord Server, The Lobby. A couple of my sub servers also have this issue and we ended up just scrapping it all together. Something like this would prove useful for user customization.

This is exactly the problem we're facing too.
A solution could be to implement two options : one option to declare a role as "color role "or "decorative role" (with for instance, all rights denied automatically), and an other option to enable a role to "manage all Color Roles" independantly of their position in the hierarchy.
This way, if you give mods full rights on decorative mods, no more problems of access any time, and no security breach potential as the decorative roles, by default, give no other permissions than the real roles of a person already gives.1
