Give the ability for the user to change their display role color

I am in a server with multiple roles and the moderation settings sets priority on which roles is displayed, but if I want to be viewed as a different color, everyone would have to be affected by this since this kind of settings is global to the server. I would like a way to choose which roles to display in chat instead of being force to abide by the moderation settings. This could also be supported for certain roles or not (for example, someone could force mods or admins roles to take over the user choice, but leave roles like "isn't a bot" or "is live on twitch" to the user discretion in priority).
