Politely correct friends spelling

Do you have that friend who just has to correct every single spelling and grammar error they see? Are you that person? We all know one or more. Some people hate it, and some really appreciate it.
But I think everyone can agree that having to deal with corrections in the middle of a conversation can be frustrating. At the same time maybe you still would like to know how you could improve your writing or speech.

Imagine an icon like an emoji reaction that could be added to messages with imperfections. When you as someone who wants to correct something click on it. You're given a ghost/copy of their message. You can make any alteration to it and then submit it as a "suggestion". The user will be the only one to see suggestions on their messages as an unintrusive badge icon. The person who made the correction can only submit one suggestion but it can be edited. 

The original poster can see all suggestions and review the changes. If the original poster likes the correction they can swap out the new suggestion and mark their message as edited. If they don't care they can ignore the badges or disable them in the settings. 

Roles can be controlled on who can submit suggestions or if they are allowed at all.

This way, those that geneuinely want to be helpful and those that genuinely want to learn have a way to help and be helped without having a list of Actually* messages right in the middle of a wumpus debate. Everyone can stay on topic.
