screen sharing a specific desktop

the screen sharing gives me a choice to either stream a specific application or a screen, I only have 1 screen but used to use multiple desktops to sort the running applications at once

is there a way to stream one desktop so when I switch to another desktop it remains streaming the first or at least pauses?
