CTRL+RIGHT ARROW behavior has changed to non-standard
In a recent update, the behavior of CTRL+RIGHT ARROW keyboard shortcut has changed. It used to be what is standard for all word processors, jumping to the right of the next whitespace - i.e., to the start of the next word.
However, after a recent update, the cursor now moves to the left of the whitespace: the end of the current word. Thus, while editing a line, jumping forward to a specific point and continuing to type results in the new characters (new word) being attached to the existing word immediately to the left, instead of starting to the right of the space character which follows that existing word.
This means that using the shortcut to jump to a location mid-sentence to continue typing words now requires an additional keystroke (adding a space) before starting to type the word(s). Because this is non-standard behavior, the rapid typing habits that everyone develops using Word, Google Docs, other chat programs, etc. (jump to a space between existing words, then start typing a new word) - nearly any text editor interface - has been broken and results in more keystrokes to select words, delete characters, and insert words.
The standard shortcut behavior is working in this web forum. To reproduce: Try typing a sentence, and while editing, using the shortcuts CTRL+RIGHT ARROW and CTRL+LEFT ARROW to jump back a few words, then forward a couple. Notice that when moving to the right, the cursor always lands at the start of a word, between the whitespace and the first character. Hold SHIFT while doing this, and the selection lets you choose a series of words to easily copy or cut.
Try these same shortcuts in any word processor.
Now try them in the Discord app for the PC. Notice the difference?
Please revert this change a.s.a.p.! Thanks.

Boom. C'mon discord, fix it.

Seems like a no-brainer ... but then, I'm guessing that not many people are aware of these shortcuts, so this topic won't garner much response, unfortunately. :-/

I have a feeling this new UI flaw has something to do with the interface change where you can see your text formatting as you type.

Apparently few Discord users actually use standard word processor keyboard shortcuts.

So, CTRL+RIGHT ARROW lands in a different position relative to the words & whitespace than CTRL+ LEFT ARROW. Doesn't anyone in the Discord development team think that such an inconsistency is wrong & should be fixed?
