Multiple Discord Accounts
Let's say I have two discord accounts. One for work purposes and one for gaming purposes. How about instead of having to logout of one account and re-login to the other, Discord adds a feature where we can be logged into more than one account, and switch between them?
Fig. 1 Right above "Log Out" is "Add Account"
After you add another account, it would look like this
Fig. 2 "Add Account" has been replaced with "Switch Account"
Once you click "Add Account", it takes you to the regular login screen, but with a cancel option. Then once logged in, clicking "Switch Account" will take you to a list of all your accounts.
Fig. 3 Shows all your accounts, and the option to switch and/or logout. Could include a "Log Out of All" button.

Please add this feature, it will be really useful for people who have separate Discord accounts for school/work and personal stuff

Saghetti - That's fantastic news! Where did you hear this?
3 -
Adds a multi-account experiment and an account switcher button (though not available to the public)

Saghetti - Thanks for providing the link! Let's hope this functionality is released to the public shortly. I appreciate you sharing this information with us, it's exactly the progress we've been waiting for. :-)

+1 bump!!!!!☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼

Hope it's not gonna be a Nitro feature ...

Bullhorn - I agree. This is a critical function that either enables or prevents a user from making use of Discord for more than one type of application concurrently. I don't see how it could be viewed as a premium-only feature that requires a Nitro subscription. To not make it available to all users would just hurt Discord's overall user base figures.

Yah, I really do hope its for everyone, why would you implement a feature needed by many but requires one to pay for it.
It will be kinda sad if they do that.4 -
Ok, I now see that discord have the ability to have different profile names and avatars per discord server accessed with a singular discord email account on the app, giving an indirect sudo solution to this particular request function request.
This doesn't address the underlying requirement for most business users, who have their business accounts locked down somewhat or not fully in their control, from being able to separate work from personal accounts. Protecting the private personal email address communication should they part ways for their employer.Obviously with separate accounts there is the current messy option to logout and login of the app, or run two incognito browser session.
So i'm going to ask the one question that everyone in this thread so far is failing to ask, in recognition that discord is a business that needs to make money to survive.
How much would the estimated development cost be to the community?
To provide the requested feature of multiple simultaneous registered email account profiles not dissimilar to the Gmail function on Chrome and Android devices or even dare i say it Microsoft Windows.
Thanks in advance-1 -
hc_svnt_dracones Not sure I understand the question: How much would the estimated development cost be to the community?
Most people asking here would probably already have multiple Discord accounts under different emails, each with different Discord servers, different friends list, different tag etc.
All we're asking for is for the app to have a simple switcher.

This is exactly it. I already have a personal account and a work account. All I (we) want is to be able to switch between them easily in the Discord app.
Tweetdeck and other Twitter clients do it. mIRC enables me to connect to multiple servers with multiple accounts simultaneously. I'm not a programmer but I can say with reasonable confidence that it ain't brain surgery. If anything, multiple account support should be part of Discord's core functionality.

Really hoping this rolls out soon. Has been two weeks since Saghetti and marcode3 pointed it out it's technically been added. Hope Discord doesn't backtrack on this... The lack of this feature is still the main reason I hardly use Discord. I try to use Discord since it's the best way to keep in contact with many people, but having separate accounts is a requirement for me. Having to fully sign out and and sign back in multiple times a day is kinda ridiculous given that fast account switching has been a standard feature in most other social and chat apps for years now.

This would be super helpful especially on the mobile app

they added it!!!! i am soo f-ing happy

Umm what are you talking about?

It has not been publicly released to my knowledge, but the code has been written and the feature is in the canary builds, just not accessible. This means that while it isn't a released feature yet, it is very likely that it will be coming in the near future. It will probably start in beta with a small portion of users having it, and eventually be available for everyone.
3 -
yes they added it but sadly its still in beta and only a certain group can see it.

Agreed here in October 2021. Its so frustrating to switch between accounts. I have 3 and it feels so disjointed between them all.

WHY WONT IT WORK!>!?!?!??!

it's a question of practicality and user satisfaction: Why would I even consider getting Nitro on 2 accounts[*] if it's not practical to use 2 accounts?
on a more serious note, I do not like having to expose my password just to switch accounts when you could easily the cache same token you store anyway for the active account...
edit: and I just scrolled up a little. good to see they finally implemented something! Although, I hope this actually allows multiple ACCOUNTS, not just multiple IDENTITIES as someone said might be the case. I'm trying to separate my administrative account credentials (authority to administrate my server in potentially destructive ways) from the account I usually expose, so that if someone hijacks my personal account, the most damage they can do is ruin my trust
[*]although, the way things have been lately with spammers and identity thieves, I'm not sure I would anyway. Is it so hard to filter links for obviously-bogus domains? E.g. discord gifts, but 2 letters off? Both the attack and mitigation are so easy I could do either of them!

My app does not have the add accounts option

For many people this is only useful if they stop requiring a unique phone number per account, as many people do not have multiple phone numbers.
