i cant join a server, i havent been banned from there (ive never joined it before, but i want to) the join button just isnt working

its a public server so i was looking at the public servers and found this one, right? so i wanted to join but it just wouldnt let me. when i pressed the join button it didnt do anything, and it wont work on any of my devices. i sent my friend an invite to see if she could join, and she did. she also sent me a normal invite to the server but it still didnt work. i copy and pasted the link into my browser, and when i pressed join it took me to the discord website like normal, but it told me there was no text channels. how can i fix this? :(
