So far, the feature of blocking users does the bare minimum. It disallows the user to directly message or call you, and makes you unable to immediately read their messages. Although, I don't really understand why discord still has this leniency towards people who you'd like to block.
The existing "blocked message" tag is nothing more than a spoiler for people to click on if you exist in a bigger server with a less gated community. Additionally, it still allows you to basically interact with the user despite not wanting to see them. Even something as simple as either making the "spoiler" icon smaller, or simply having the option to remove it all together through developer mode.
It's not impossible, it's something that's been requested or that I've seen pop up on the feedback forum for the entire 5 years, and it's practically essential to any social platform, which discord fundamentally is. No other platform has this issue, yet discord has for some obscure reason ignored it? Pretty warped.
