Quick message removes line breaks

I'm trying to bulk-DM game keys and instructions to playtesters who have posted to a special channel. When I click on their names it gives me the option to "Message @username" but this quick message system removes all the line breaks from whatever I paste into it. Then it takes me from the channel I was in to a DM with that user. When I hit back, it takes me back to the channel but way up the page and I need to scroll back down to where I was in the list of posts again.

It's an annoying system. Either make the quick message NOT move me to their DM page, or just put a link to their DM page right there instead of the quick message box (or having to further click View Profile, then hamburger menu, then Message).

Or better, do both! But please stop stripping line breaks from quick messages.
