Do NOT SELL to Microsoft, they have already destroyed one and cripple another chat service.

The best thing about Discord is that it's owned by you, how cares about the software and made it stand on its own for what it is. And did NOT change part of the software in the cause of change, not caring if it's going to work or not. Discord works, it's fun to use and a great tool for a lot of people.

Microsoft had a really popular chat software in the 90th, MSN. I remember how it was to be a user before it was canceled. Nothing worked, I couldn't add new friends, images didn't show and some messages wasn't received. Before that I did complain that every time MSN got an update, it got worse and it was true until it stopped working completely.

Microsoft acquired Skype to get a new chat program to replace their own failing MSN with. Skype did survived, at least their version for companies but things like you're not allowed to display your screen happened and when other things start to show tendencies of the MSN update disasters I jumped to your Discord that was new, fun and a quite confident opponent.

If you want to see Discord getting slowly degraded and destroyed, limiting their userbase features and a new business Discord for larger corporations emerge. Microsoft is for you, I think MS is looking for something to use in competition to Zoom rather then genuine interest in your software as it is.

I'm certain they wont care about the current userbase or the future of Discord because they have already proven what they will do, take a look at MSN and Skype before deciding to let them scrap your Discord in a half assed try to overtake Zoom.
