Discord's "verify by phone"

I'm grounded, but my mom still lets me use my laptop. I have no way to use discord anymore because I don't have a phone right now! This should change, I had my email and password. Why isn't that enough? Now I can't talk to my friends, or even check on my servers! What's "out of the ordinary"??! Talking to my friends?... I asked my brother for his phone number. Not too sure if he's going to have my account, messages and friends.. but at least I can text them.

    Not everyone even has a mobile device. As of yesterday (8 April 2021) I am unable to access the various Discord servers I've joined because my ISP often switches my "login location" (IP address). This time, instead of sending me a log-in token by email, Discord is requiring a phone number to a mobile device. I have never had a mobile device. Well, chatting on Discord was nice while it lasted.
