Suggestion for a Built-in Simple D&D Board Activity on Discord

Dear Discord Development Team,

I am writing to propose an enhancement to your incredible platform, one that I believe could significantly boost the overall user experience and engagement - a simple, built-in Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) board.

D&D is a game deeply rooted in interaction and storytelling, and as such, it fits perfectly with the communicative essence of Discord. Implementing this feature could streamline the organization of online D&D sessions, making Discord an even more essential tool for online communities.

The concept I envision is a basic, grid-based board where each user can control their own token. The grid can act as a visual aid during games, and tokens can represent the player characters, NPCs, monsters, etc. The token control should be highly customizable: while every player can move their own token, there should be an option for a designated player (the game master) to have control over all tokens on the board.

In addition, it would be extremely useful to provide the option to upload custom backgrounds. This would allow the game master to set the scene with various environments, ranging from dark dungeons to enchanted forests, further enriching the gaming experience.

By implementing this feature, you would be catering to the extensive D&D community present on Discord, and likely attract even more players, as this functionality would provide a comprehensive, integrated solution for managing and playing D&D games online.

I am aware that implementing new features can be complex and time-consuming, but I genuinely believe that this addition could enhance the experience for a significant proportion of Discord's user base.
