Cache Favorite GIFs
The loading of the “favorite” GIF section is horribly slow, even on WiFi, and especially on mobile.
Additionally, if you scroll down/up too far, it seems to try and re-load the same GIFs again, which is (still) slow - even though they were just loaded.
It would be nice if all saved/favorited GIFs are cached on my phone (or optimized to load quicker). It can take even minutes to load some, leaving empty grey boxes where they should be.
Use case:
You're in a fast paced discussion with friends and they say something where you have the perfect, hilarious, GIF response to it. You click GIFs and go to Favorites and scroll down - you know it's only about 2 pages down!
You scroll, and wait. Grey boxes. You don't want to scroll too far, so you wait more. The chat discussion is moving forward, and sweat runs down your brow (insert gif here of sweating person). Maybe if you can still send it while the context is on screen, it'll still be funny.
All the GIFs load on this page! But it's the wrong page!!! You scroll back up - maybe you passed it? NO! It's further down!!! YOU DON'T KNOW BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL GREY BOXES!
You look at the chat, it's starting to pick up. You still have time!! You frustratingly go check your network settings - yup you're on WIFI. What is going on? You go back to the app, and open GIFs but even this initial page of favorites is still grey boxes. You were just on this page! Why is it grey?
You swipe furiously down on the GIF favorites page and let it land somewhere to see what loads - who knows at this paint, it's got to be close. You got lucky, there it is!
The chat has moved on now, and you find the GIF too late. You send it anyway, but no one understands the reference. It's not funny. You look like an idiot. Your coffee is now cold too.
