"Convert to thread" author or mod tool
I often see mods request that topics go to a thread when they become very in-depth or contentious. Unfortunately mods have no way to actually make this happen. What I would like to see is an interface where a mod can see recent messages in a channel, and move them into a thread. The mod can select all and move them, or select individual messages. I suggest this kind of interface because while some responses are replies to the original post, often times some are replies and some are not. I think this would make it a lot easier to enforce threading rules or provide some soft power before deleting messages or banning users.

Please implement this - it would be very helpful in moderating discussions and keeping a good conversation going, while not derailing a large channel with many participants!

Adding to this request. This is a huge issue in my Discords, where things explode into enormous tangents and derail all other conversation – would be no nice to be able to move these into threads or posts after the fact, for people with mod powers.
