Feature request: option to hide notification from seen DM and Friend invite without Ignoring OR show Ignored messages/invites in dedicated tab
I received a DM and friend invite from an unknown user. It may be a spam or not, I can't confirm yet and I am waiting for a moderator's reply.
In the meantime I want to use Discord for other things, but the red notification number at the top showing 2 (one for DM, one for invite) is annoying.
Example below with outstanding DM (note count is now only 1 because I have ignored the Invite, not the DM - otherwise the Friend header also have a 1 notification count, and total is 2)

In order to hide it, I MUST either Ignore or Block the Invite/DM. However:
- Ignoring will make it completely disappear, preventing me from showing it again to either accept it (if it was legit) or Report user + Block it (if it wasn't). It's only possible by writing the username somewhere to find it back later.
- Blocking will add the user to my blocklist, so I can retrieve it to unblock if it was legit... But I'd rather Block when I'm sure it should be. I generally Report on block too, but I should even more be sure I'm facing spam before reporting a user... Otherwise, I need to remember to Report the blocked user later after confirming the spam.
I see the following solutions:
A. Add an option to hide DM and Friend request notification count from the top-left after being seen. No worries, user can still see the Friend invite (with number) in the invite list, and DM near "Incoming messages" (from unknown users). At least when you click on a different server, no red visible. But people may want this case by case, so instead of an option:
B. Right-click on invite/DM > force hide notification of a certain invite/DM. This will clear the top-left notification count.
C. Give access to user to Ignored DM / Invite in a dedicated tab. I already see Incoming message > Spam (N) tab, so it could be besides it. And for Invites, it would be near Friends > "Online", "All", "Sent", "Blocked" tabs (not 100% sure of English writing, I'm translating from German).
For now, I suppose the least worse is to Block without Reporting, so I can easily find user later without even username to finalize Report, or unblock.
