Introducing Server Monetization through Ad Banners
As we all know, server owners invest a significant amount of time and effort into creating and maintaining vibrant communities on Discord. However, many server owners may struggle to find sustainable ways to support their communities financially while keeping their servers running smoothly.
My proposal is to introduce server monetization through ad banners. By allowing server owners to display ads in their server banners, Discord could provide an additional revenue stream for server owners, thus enabling them to better support their communities and invest more time and resources into their servers.
Here's how it could work: Discord could partner with advertisers to run ads on eligible server banners. Server owners who meet certain monetization criteria, which the Discord team can define, would be eligible to participate in the program. Discord could then share a percentage of the ad revenue generated from their server banners with the respective server owners.
I believe this approach would be mutually beneficial for Discord, server owners, and advertisers. It would provide server owners with a new source of income, incentivize them to continue building and growing their communities, and allow Discord to tap into a new revenue stream without compromising the user experience.
Of course, I understand that implementing such a feature would require careful consideration and planning, particularly in terms of ensuring that ads are relevant and non-intrusive. However, I believe that with the right approach, this could be a valuable addition to Discord's monetization options.
