I was debating between Zoom and Discord for my use case, and had to go with Zoom because this is such an important feature in a group, to be able to see the text chat side by side while being in a group call in gallery mode with a dozen people.

Update on the Utili Bot. It is still working fine, right as it should!
The developer of the bot is also rly nice and responding to new ideas.
I just can recommend to check it out.
(Still, would be nice if this would be a vanilla feature)

When somebody on voice uses that (linked) text channel, every other person on the VC should be notified so that they know one of them wants to contribute to the conversation, which will reduce the chance of the person's text being ignored.

Honestly this should already be in for accessibility.  Why can't we just have the option to expand out a text portion of voice channel already?

Beyond accessibility, some people don't feel comfortable in voice, but still want to be a part of the conversation.

Some people want to take some notes alongside a little video conference.  Provide written instructions alongside a live tutorial.  These are basic needs in something like this.

And some people don't want to stream out through Twitch.  Sometimes I just want to stream to some of my friends on a server.  I shouldn't have to force people to sign up for Twitch if you're actually offering a streaming feature for Discord users.  The service can be divisive and people loathe having to sign up for yet another thing.  A lot of servers aren't even gamer oriented now.

Just an option to have a voice channel with text underneath, like when you create a group for messaging.

I support it because we do sign language lessons by webcam but the problem to ask questions in the chat is separate channel.
Not practical for those who are hearing or beginner.

We aswell have text channels for our voice channels. It would resolve alot of clutter if you could combine these two. We also added extra emoticons to clearly distinguise the two as people accidently click the voice channel. Would be nice if you can chat while other voice chat (you can listen in / lurk)

    I found that on Discord both (Stable 103871 (e0f6e26) Host 1.0.9003 Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.22000)) and (Stable 103871 (e0f6e26) Host 0.0.16 Linux 64-Bit (5.10.0-Kali7-Amd64))
But I can't send messages on it

It would be so helpful to have a Text chat integrated with a Voice channel!  I am migrating from Zoom, and this is the feature I miss most.  People like to be able to text chat while they are in a Voice/Video meeting.  Is there a way to get this currently?  I'm making duplicate Text and Voice channels, but this is awkward.

@ Latliho·lʌ́seˀ your answer is Elementalbot. com makes creating voice linked text channels super easy. HMU on discord if you want ToxicSalt#0001

Linking is not what we're looking for. We want to create channels that are both text and voice
