Discord seems too eager to forget scroll position after being interrupted

I keep noticing that after putting my computer to sleep/hibernate for the night, or even after a game has stolen too much RAM from the browser (which then has to spend a while paging back in before it can respond again), discord will notice that it lost connection temporarily, and then scroll down to the most recent hundred messages or so. When I had been in the middle of catching up on old history, this has obviously been troublesome. I've found I could work around that by enabling developer mode, copying a message link, and pasting that in the address bar (reloading the page, making both my browser and the Discord servers perform needless work). But that only works if I thought to save a link in advance, and if not, it's an extended period of holding Page Up/Down until the messages scrolling past are most familiar as "that was what I last read" (since, if I knew some of the exact words, I could just use the search feature).
