Member list non channel/permission specific

I am probably a huge minority here but tonight while managing a role to keep younger members from seeing our NSFW general chat channel I realized I couldn't tell they were online unless I went to a different chat channel they had permissions to.  Maybe an option to set the channel online/offline list per channel as it is now or every channel shows every member?
