Focusing multiple users in group chats with camera or screen sharing

It would be great to be able to focus multiple people in group video chats. It's especially useful when only some users are sharing their camera or screen because all the other users still take place and make their picture smaller. There are already lots of suggestions based on the same problem: 360043581232, 360042552791, 35582209, 35501155, 35410024, 34403986, 34273810, 34091083, 34080247, 33383518, 33372538, 33372466, 31521838, 20506927, 20515198, 20561275, 20636812. I found the IDs in the Discord suggestions server but I think the IDs on the website are the same.

When multiple users are focused, the layout would be as if you were only chatting with those users, but I think ideally the layout should actually depend on the order in which you focus users, so that in some cases, such as with 5 people where the one in the middle is larger, you can choose who is larger.

I also have some ideas about the user interactions but it's not really important how the interface works as long as there is a solution to the problem of people with no video taking up space and making pictures of people sharing video smaller.

User interaction:

Right now double-clicking focuses one user and you can see the others in small pictures until you double-click the big picture to deactivate focus and single-clicking small pictures while someone is focused moves the focus to that user or deactivates focus if clicked on the focused user.

I think it would make sense to keep double-clicking to activate focus, then a single-click on small pictures could add/remove users to/from focus and double-clicking a small picture could focus on that single user, removing all other users from focus. Right now double-clicking the only focused user deactivates and quickly reactivates focus on that user. I guess that could either stay the same or just deactivate focus like a single-click.

100% upvoting this. Highly annoying when we're 8 or 9 people and the higlighted person is the one without the cam making the rest of us with cam smaller. I rather just show people with cam. Like if no one's using cam, show all equal size, but if there's 1 or more, they will fill the screen instead.

this. also added the ability to hide one's own camera. or individually hide people's cameras/icon things (including one's own)
