Permission to cancel out a ping

Sometimes someone, whether by accident or on purpose pings the wrong user/role or even @everyone. If this in some way isn't meant to happen, it would be nice if one could cancel out their own ping, and if abused that a mod could cancel out that ping (maybe even further pings temporarily) without the notification still staying around.
