Discord users should know whether the person they are chatting with see the message or not and it could work for group chats too but I don't know about servers

  This has been discussed multiple times before and is a privacy issue, which is one of the reasons some of us prefer Discord over Messenger or Skype. Not everybody should feel obliged to respond to everything that is sent
