Stop forcing me to read new messages

Since the new update if discord is open on a second monitor it no longer auto scrolls when new messages are sent. Instead it hangs on the first new message until you click and scroll down. At least give me the option to set it back to how it was, Instead of keeping up on conversations while I'm in game I have to minimize the game, to do so. Needless change, should have been optional.

  This renders Discord effectively useless on a second monitor, might as well just minimize the window. Why did they ever think this was a good idea? Who does this benefit?

  This is my number one issue, I can deal with the dividers being gone and the awful highlighting, but I only use Discord while gaming, which means it's on my second monitor.
