Voice Memos in Text Chat

Good afternoon workers at Discord, I am posting this suggestion for a feature which discord users would love and appreciate. In normal text chat, we should have the option to send voice recording messages. This is alike to snapchat’s voice memo feature. At the bottom there is a microphone that you hold down and it sends a recording, like the last sent message in that group chat.     All you have to do is add your own creative feel to it and then you’re all set.    - Have an amazing and happy holidays, with love, ❦𝔅𝔩𝔬𝔬❦#4303

    mmmmm no. VC i agree is cool, but having voice memos in the chat that you can go back and re listen to would be amazing. AND PINNING FUNNY VOICE MEMOS that would be gr8 😎😎😎😎

    I think voice memos like you are talking about are only suitable for direct messages, not for servers.

    Maybe- definitely in direct messages or group chats, but I think it’s good to be open for servers. For example only certain roles can have access to the voice memo in the server. But I can see why voice memos in a server can be chaotic.

    I want this so badly!! Came here to suggest it too but im glad someone else did. I dont wanna type sometimes and it's not worth gathering people in vc just for a simple phrase, story, or conversation. Ig, snap, fb, even whatsapp all have this feature and i really think discord should have it! Plus it can be a perm we set for channels like enabling tts so its not like every server NEEDS to have it. I keep looking for a bot that could allow this since discord doesn't currently have it but i keep finding bots just for VCs and stuff.
