"Will you please try this game uwu" hacked account
Account Name: Hannah#6969
I'm not usually stupid, I've had the account for 6 years and I feel like sharing my story will help people who are going through the same thing as far as we all wait for discord to come back.
I was in a public server chatting to somebody I used to talk to a lot in the beginning of this year and then they randomly DM saying things and being nice and I thought, hey this guy is legit because we've been talking for a while, what I didn't realise is that their fake account and real account did not have a difference in it except the profile picture, they didn't change their name from their compromised account and since I had dm history with their old account, I didn't think much of it. I was like, "sure, once I wake up" and they waited for me patiently too so I thought hey, can't go wrong here!
But I was so wrong... the moment I clicked that megadrive link and ran it, there was around 5 discords running in my little bar on the bottom right, I knew something was up but wasn't sure if my account was already compromised or was about to be, if I had known prior that it was a keylogger and that my 2FA could be by-passed, I wouldn't have put in my password but I did.
I quickly grabbed my phone and tried dm-ing a friend but they had change my password by then and then quickly my E-Mail, removed my 2FA I assume. I sent an E-Mail to discord support instantly saying I've been compromised.
Through out the night, I went through each account to change passwords because I had shared account details in the past, blocking my bank card because they were using my discord alt to buy nitro and somehow by-passed my card's 3D One-Time-Password 2FA authentication which made me really worried.
I reset my PC, told all my friends in my server after getting re-invited to it, my steam is still linked to that account so is my battle.net to prove that it really is my account, I've updated discord with screenshots of how I got compromised and how they're dm-ing them to "try their game" and still no response.
I went to all the mods in servers I was in to get me kicked or banned to mitigate damages caused. They also deleted the server I owned for 6 years.
I realise that it was my mistake that this happened in the first place and I did everything I could on my side to stop the attack, I wish discord support would either disable my account while they investigated further or even just mark the account as "spam" until they figured out what was happening since this is such a common occurrence.
I'm quite sad because there's just so many memories, so many things that cannot just be brought back, there's also sensitive content on the discord that could jeopardies others that I may not remember or have not talked to in a while and especially those I've been in contact with all this while.
It's just sad that support for something like this is slow especially being a Nitro user and having been an OG account. I just think it could be dealt with better because if the person who did send me the link was disabled/dealt with, I wouldn't be attacked either.

This happened to me as well about 15 days ago and still no response it’s really disappointing to see how bad discord support really is, except on my account they’ve managed to spend $55+ worth of nitro

I instantly blocked my card after the first transaction or somehow my bank blocked the re-occuring ones, I'm not sure but yeah, I was trying my best to mitigate damages as fast as possible and thankfully, I didn't take a lot of monetary damage.

I just fell for this attack too, and for a really stupid blindsided reason. Luckily I didn't have Nitro, but I'm really sad about all the memories and friends that have been lost because of this hack. I'm trying to bug Discord on social media to get them to restore my account sooner because I don't trust the ticket system at all.

Same I am trying to bug them on twitter as well but to no avail they haven’t noticed me at all

they can take instant action to ban accounts for dreamt up reasons, but exploits and attacks like this is allowed to go on with discord refusing to take action. And refusing to help the people that suffered a loss of account, and had their personal information compromised. This makes discord just as guilty as the people running the hacks in the first place. Cause discord is allowing it to happen and actively refuses to stop it, and actively refusing to help their users.

Honestly, if your company takes monetary transactions every month from users and there's an open source code available on GitHub to try and take these accounts and sell them for profit, use for blackmail, or bitcoin wallets or server boost their hack exploited servers.
Then you really need to revise your security measures.Despite all that, I would rather them disabling my 6 year old account if that takes less time than giving the hacker more time and possibly more victims in the time taken to respond to my report.
