Hide other people's messages (text, picture, etc.)

I'd like a feature to hide a message for myself, that someone sent in a discussion. This feature has been asked before.

There were instances where someone sent a video or a link in an ongoing discussion which occupied the view space or I didn't like the content of what they sent and didn't want to see them every time I re-open the discussion. In these instances I'd like to have the option to hide those messages, having them occupy less screen space in case they are media or link content, and perhaps have the option to show them again if I change my mind. This option would only affect my side, it would make some annoying experiences disappear.
