Unable to download videos and images using the Discord app on Android (Download Failed) message

Hey guys, so today I have tried downloading images and videos from the Discord app while using my phone which is an Android device but when I hit the download button while in the app it will say "Download Failed" at the bottom of my screen.

I have tried clearing caches on the Google Play store, Google Play Services, and Discord apps as well as restarting my device but still no matter how many times I try it still says Download failed at the bottom of my screen.

Any help on how to fix this?

    I'm having the same issue but the work around ive found is to open the image in a browser and download from there. The button should be the one all the way to the right, it looks like s box with an arrow going thru it.

    Same thing has happened to me. First ibeas getting a "storage permissions denied" message even though my permissions were correct. Now it's just the download failed message.

    Same, full list of stuff i cant do:
    -cant pick photos through my photos app, must be through files which is much harder to navigate
    -cant download images
    -cant crop my profile picture in app

    Yeah, I can't download images (unless through a browser), nor can I take pictures inside of discord; I have to use the camera app and then share the photo to discord manually. Samsung Galaxy S8, Android 9. Wonder what's causing this..

    Same issue for the past week or two.  I've just been clicking the image like I normally would to download it and just taking a screenshot then for now until it's fixed.  Much faster and less of a hassle than sending it to Chrome and downloading from there.  Either way hopefully this gets fixed soon!

    I had the same issue. I updated the app and now its working fine again. (A quick fix for the time being was to open the image in browser and then download it)

    Hello guys, i found the same issue and i fixed it on my phone, the issue is the "download" file on my file manager is gone and i don't know why, so i updated my file manager aplication, and reboot my phone, and i can download file again from discord, hope this work with you guys

    So I figured out the issue, consider it resolved. Go into discords app info, scroll down to permissions in the app settings section. Then go over to storage and click it once to select it and another time to re select it. That will fix the issue. Silly issue, but it works.
