Events list not visible anymore

The Events button at the top of the channel list is no longer appearing on desktop (both app and browser). Users in my servers started reported the events button being gone. For the moment I still saw the events tab on mine, but after quitting and restarting discord, the events tab was just gone. Was still able to create a new event, but it does not appear on desktop clients. Mobile apps still shows the events list in servers.
