Discord Score - See how many messages you have sent/received

Discord should have a score system where your score goes up by 1 whenever you send or receive a message.

This score should be displayed on your userpage, and you can click on it or hover over it and it will show you the number broken down into sent: (number) | received: (number)

I think this would greatly help Discord evolve into a more all-purpose communication and chat app for all functions. I think it would enhance the overall user experience and create more interaction on Discord.

The possibilites for this feature are endless. It could be a badge that evolves over time depending on how high your score is (similar to the Server Booster badge). There could be a leaderboard. There could be a statistics page that lets you see how many messages you sent/received each year, who you messaged the most, etc. Who knows how many possibilities this feature opens the door to?


If Discord doesn’t want to add this, we should at least have an option in the app somewhere where we can see how many messages we have sent and received.

    I don’t think so, the impact on storage is likely to be minimal as text messages are very small in size compared to other media types. And Discord already has rules and systems in place against spamming, so it shouldn’t be a major issue.

    Ultrasnoop30 Is correct, this will encourage spammers to send messages more than before, This feature will include more code and since Discord is a big platform this will be hard for discord to keep track of every users messages as there will be more process to load them, probally make the Discord Client performance to drop.

    Not true, Discord already keeps track of every user message and you can view it if you request your data file. It is all already saved, it wouldn’t require much more process to load anything.

    If it were to exist I think there should definitely be an option for you to choose to not display it publicly, similar to the discriminator badge
