Implementing In-Channel Warnings for Automod's 'Block Certain Words' Function in Discord
Dear Discord Support Team,
I frequently use the automod feature on my Discord server, and it's been immensely helpful in moderation. However, I've identified an area for potential improvement. In the current "Block Custom Words" setup, there isn't an option to send an instant alert in the channel where a flagged word is detected.
An alert system within the channel could greatly enhance user awareness and safety. For instance, if "Direct Message" is a flagged term, instead of outright removing such messages, the feature could allow for an accompanying warning, like "Beware of scammers. Official messages are not sent via DM." This approach maintains message visibility while simultaneously educating users about potential risks, fostering a safer community environment.
Implementing this feature would improve the moderation capabilities and educate and protect our community members in real time.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.

While implementing this feature is in progress, I have developed a basic Discord bot as a temporary solution. You can find it here: GitHub - rickstaa/warnings-discord-bot. This bot is designed to serve the intended purpose until the entire feature is available. You are welcome to leave your feedback or request additional features on the GitHub page; your input is greatly appreciated and will help improve the bot's functionality 🚀.
