Make Mobile more like PC, Not Less
Ultimately, this is another person making another post about problems with the New UI over the Old UI.
I'll start off with saying that I dislike the choice to prioritize making the app “Mobile-friendly” over it being a reflection of the PC. One of the key features I had loved about Discord before was how easy it was to swap between PC and Mobile with the Old UI, as they both had a similar setup without compromising on functionality, something few other apps can claim. I could give directions about how to find something within the app with only a few minor notes on the pc vs mobile differences - now, I have to make two entirely different lists.
When the New UI was released, I figured I could learn to at least accept it, but the larger issue I have now is that it continues to be glitchy. I figured the bugs were issues with totally reworking the UI, but it'd get ironed out soon enough… But I still continue to have problems. I frequently have to close out of the app to fix issues with pictures or the emoji list sizing beyond the width of the phone, with freezes and failures for the app to load, and a whole host of similar issues that are just bothersome enough to make using the app more difficult without any individual one being worth my time enough to write up a bug report about it. Can't claim it's mobile friendly if the supposedly mobile friendly UI is far more glitchy than the PC version or the previous UI.
I'd rather a lot of these features be options in the settings. Discord has always been awesome with the customizability, and I'd rather they expand on that with new features rather than force user-wide changes. For example, a “Set Swipe Left Function" setting to decide if you want that to create a reply or to open the user list, or a setting to choose where opening your Direct Messages is located (in the server list, or as a tab along the bottom).
Play to your strengths, don't fall to the pressure of other socials with prioritizing newness over functionality and what the users want, many of us chose Discord in the first place to escape from apps with skewed priorities.

Okay, no joke, less than an hour after I posted this I got an update in where the first patch note says “You can Swipe to View Members… Again!”
Glad they're listening to some feedback, remainder of feedback remains, hope to see more improvements in the future!

Seems like they accidently pushed that change too soon, because they removed it from the update. Hopefully it can be readded soon though
