Phone screen timing out while on video call on mobile

Hello! 
I have this issue where my phone screen will timeout even if I'm on a Discord video call while on mobile. It doing so doesn't end the call, but it makes looooooong calls like I regularly have a pain in the butt. It doesn't seem to happen every single time, but I can't figure out the triggers so I can prevent them nor could I find anything in Discord in app or phone settings to help. 

Discord can run in the background, run over other apps, and detect my face (although this shouldn't be the problem because it will stay unlocked even if my face isn't showing, and it'll time out even with my face showing.)
I've tested with it happening through my phone being unplugged or myself on mute or camera off to no avail.

I never used to have this issue. I'm thinking it must have come with one of the updates, but I'm not sure which one, and I'm not even sure an update caused the issue.

I saw this question pop up once before but that was years ago and settings have all changed.

Version 234.14 on Samsung Galaxy A52 Android 14
