Create a BACKUP copy of a current Discord Server
-
As this is probably not going to be added, I can suggest you all to use server-templates to copy your channel & role structure. You can enable the template in the server settings.
If this is not what you need, you can take a look at the bot "Xenon". It can create backups and copy your server.1 -
Xenon can also save and transfer messages (chatlog / history) depending on your tier.

If you changed the server, would that save to a file so you could export it?

Good, I would love this idea!

This feature could also help people make sure new servers they make are secure, and cannot be exploited in a bad way

100% agree.. discord bots are on the rise and ive seen it plenty of times where a bot gains access to a server and wipes out the whole thing. This needs to be a thing!!

Nice idea!

make this happen

Why? This could be abused easily.

You could use a bot to create the channels. Then store relevant information in a database such as who the channel belongs to. The bot could also repost stuff but it would appear as a message from the bot. Also, you would have to be careful with rate limits. Maybe an import command that queues a channel for import? Those are just my thoughts.
Your other option would be to just switch servers. Make the testing one your live one. Not ideal but it would simplify the process.

@Zacatero yes u are correct but even trustworthy persons can get hacked.

It should be needed to fill in an aplication, and depending on the server size the time between backups should change 0 -
Since they already keep an audit log, wouldn't the infrastructure to implement a rollback feature already be mostly there since they could just step backwards through it?

I know this aint totally what you asked for, but i know there is a bot called Xenon that can make complete duplicates of servers and lots of more things, if you want to you can check it out. 0 -

This really needs to be a thing. I've just spend that last few hours working on a channel, and for someone to just come along and destroy it, would be devastating0 -
Great suggestion, but I think 30 days us too much, also can you explain keep the server...
Do you mean you can still send messages there. Or do you mean you can restore it.

Yes it is a great idea !
I wonder if there is a workaround using a bot
Someone asked on my server to know if a bot exist to save servers and duplicate them
If you, reading me, know a way to do that sort of thing, please create a bot and share it here. It could be wonderful
